Too Many Shows, So Little Time

sons of anarchy

I had an entry like this similar to the one I posed on my now closed blogspot page. Just when I gave up on watching television, the arrival of a few new shows this season peaked my interest. It’s not like my schedule is already booked. Don’t believe me? Well, this is what my schedule looks like. Supernatural Season Premiere: October 8th, 2013, Tuesdays I honestly don’t remember what season the show is in.  The season finale showed angels falling from heaven and Sam’s failed attempt on Crowley. Kept me on the edge of my seat! This is one show that I rarely miss. Vampire Diaries Season Premiere: October 3rd, 2013, Thursdays I have to admit. I was getting tired of evil b*tch Elena so I was somewhat happy to see her return. For me, the episodes have its ups and downs. Maybe because I still don’t understand the fascination with vampires and high school. Oh well, I’ll still tune in and watch this season. However, with the Originals airing and my love for Klaus . . . Sons of Anarchy Season Premiere: September 10th, Tuesdays No supernatural, high school drama here. Just a good old fashioned biker gang creating mischievous. Okay, well that’s a weak synopsis of the show. I started watching SOA when it was in it’s third season. I spent an entire week catching up on Netflix. This show is one of the best shows on TV hands down (along with Game of Thrones.) Last season finale, Tara was being arrested and hauled away by the cops and Clay was going to jail. I think this season is going to be too crazy to not miss. Plus I love Juice! Boardwalk Empire Season Premiere:  September 8th 2013, Sundays There’s something about HBO shows that keep me entertained for a very long time. I watch Game of Thrones early in the year, TruBlood in the summer, and I finish it off with Boardwalk Empire in the fall. But this year I might stop doing something different. I might have to stop watching the show. The first few seasons were awesome and fantastic. I really like Steve Buscemi’s character, Lucky, and how he struggles to keep his spot as the most important and respected person in his area. But the show has started to slow down for me and this started with the death of Jimmy. Afterwards I honestly didn’t care about much about the other characters and what they were up to and how important they were to the story. Depending on how this season goes, if it doesn’t pick up anytime soon I might have to drop the show. Being Human   Season Premiere: 2014 Okay, so I don’t REALLY have to worry about this show until then, but I just wanted to say that UK Version > US Version hands down. Still the US version is a pretty good show. Arrow Season Premiere: October 9th 2013, Wednesdays I love comic books. I hate when movies/shows don’t stick to comic books, but I understand how troublesome that could be for production. I watched Smallville until I couldn’t take it anymore, praying to the CW gods to end the show. They finally listened in, what- season 11 or something? I don’t remember. The only thing I do remember is that the show went on for too damn long and Lana annoyed the heck out of me. I hope Arrow doesn’t go down that path. So far it’s pretty entertaining. I wonder if we’re going to see Arrow’s sidekick, Speedy? The only thing that gets to me is Oliver Queen’s sister. Oh, and also how most of the characters talk in whispers. Other than that, it’s a great show with a plot that well . . . sometimes makes you scratch your head and think “What in the heck is going on?” Vikings Season Premiere: ??? All I know is that there will be a season 2, according to the History Channel. I saw the season two sneak peek vid and it looked like everything I expected season two to be. It shows Ragnar standing with a group of men across from his brother, Rollo, who also has his own group of men. The two groups charge at each other and a bloody fight ensues. I’m also interested in the Vikings’ conquest to England and how that’ll play out. I HIGHLY recommend this show. Grimm Season Premiere: October 25th, Fridays Nick is a descended from a long line of Grimms, those who have the ability to see creatures disguised as humans. I like the show’s premise and the characters are very interesting, including the Wesen (creatures.) Last season showed Nick being captured and contained in a box to be shipped to somewhere unknown. Whew. I think that about covers it. So there you have it. The MAIN shows I currently watch in the Fall. Yes, only MAIN shows. Now, on top of that, these are the new shows I’m looking forward to this fall season. Originals    Season Premiere: October 3rd 2013 The season premieres right after The Vampire Diaries’ season premiere. Go figure. Dracula Bringing it back to basics with no high school teen drama involved. I can’t wait. Sleepy Hollow  Season Premiere: September 16th Set in a modern city with a modern day Ichabod Crane.   No wonder I can’t get anything done.

Release Date for The Bond (Sphere, Episode Two)

Book cover 2 - Isaiyan

First I’d like to give a special thanks to those who’ve purchased the first episode, The Carriers, on Smashwords and Amazon. I can’t thank you enough! Honestly, I was surprised at how many downloads of the book I had, especially on Amazon since you can purchase the book for free on Smashwords by using code KX55E. If you liked the episode (or hated it) remember to post your review on Amazon. I appreciate the emails I’ve received but please, share your thoughts with others on the website. That could make a huge difference for others who may be undecided about purchasing the episode. Also, it also helps me to know what I’m doing right or wrong and how I can improve as an author! With that being said, I planned on releasing each episode of my serial every two weeks. However, I’ve been behind this past week (going to Orlando and watching the EVO Video Game Tournament.) So I’ve decided to set the release date for the next episode titled “The Bond” for August 7th, 2013. I’ve also decided to skip Smashwords this time and stick directly to Amazon.   Synopsis As a new Carrier in training, Tayla has a lot to learn. Still unable to accept that her mother who walked out on her and her father years ago was a Carrier herself, her new friends, Darrien, Sina, and Iris, began to reveal how important her mother was in the Carrier world. However, their explanations only create more questions about her mother and why she secretly passed her gift onto Tayla at such a young age. Still trying to get used to the fact that her gift is the strongest gift that any Carrier could possess, Tayla finds herself the center of an up and coming war between Light and Dark Carriers. She meets Cody, Darrien’s older brother and enemy who tells her that not only will her gift bring destruction if she chooses a side, but by not choosing a side she can be like him – a Rogue Carrier with no allegiance. Learning now that her power can tip the scales in the up and coming war Tayla is forced to choose. Will she fight for the Light Carriers or will she fight for the Dark Carriers? Purchase links are coming soon!

A Serial Novel You Say???

As a writer, you have ideas coming to you at all times. I can only speak for myself when I say that if I ignore these ideas, they continue to fester inside my brain until I write them down. Now, not all ideas are great ideas. I’ve started several books, only to reach the middle and think “wow, this isn’t going anywhere” or “wow, this sucks” or “wow, this is boring.” At that point I either stuff the manuscript in my slush box (yes, I have one.) If I remember, I might pull it out and try again or take it apart and add it to other novels I’m working on. However, there’s always one idea that I try hard to ignore and place on the back burner and it ends up coming to bite me in the ass later. I consider myself a dark fiction author. That is, I like writing about the darker things in life; vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, mass murderers – I think you get the idea. But this new idea isn’t dark fiction. Honestly, I don’t know what to call it. What I do know is that I love writing it and I won’t stop until it’s done. This little experimentation is called “Sphere.” It’s a serial novel, meaning that it’ll be  50-70 pages each or about 15,000-20,000 words.  The first “season” has six episodes and it will be self published, e-book format only. Besides this being my first time writing “episodes” this is also my first time writing something other than a dark fiction novel. I’ve only seen a few authors with published serial novels, episodes ect.  I’m not expecting this to fly off the digital shelves, as they say. If it does, well then I’ll be thrilled. If not, I’m fine with that. So with that being said, here’s a rough draft of the cover art created by Javier Alvarez of Javier Designs and edited by Charlotte Emma Gledson (who is amazing!) I personally love it so maybe it isn’t a rough draft after all. I’m a sucker for drawn artwork! Short Synopsis (subject to change) Just finishing graduating high school, Tayla Wyatt looks forward to heading off to the same college her best friend Sara was accepted to. This is her only way to get away from her family’s troubles and the fact that her mother walked out on her and her father over a decade ago. The day of her 17th birthday they meet Darrien, a shy eighteen year old boy who reveals to Tayla that she’s descended  from a long line of Carriers, humans endowed with special abilities or “gifts” and that her gift she has yet to harness is the strongest gift of them all. Tayla doesn’t believe him. After all, no human in the world has special powers, or do they? Things suddenly take a downward spiral turn as Tayla finds herself immersed in their world. Still questioning why her mother left her, she must also come to grips with the fact that her gift may not be a blessing but a curse.

Blog Hop!

I’m thrilled to be part of Mel Chesley’s Blog Hop! This being my first time taking part in a Blog Hop, I honestly don’t know what to expect. Well, let me get started about who I am. My pseudonym is Isaiyan Morrison. I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I currently reside in  Texas with my two cats, three pit bull dogs (who I love so much,) and two guinea pigs. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember and I constantly dreamed about becoming successful at it one day. At 20 I joined the military and moved to San Diego. I placed writing on the back burner and served four years. Later I moved to Hollywood and lived there for about three years before I moved back to Minnesota. At that time I decided to ignore my fears and pursue my dream of becoming an author. I went to school and continued to write. Unfortunately, I was sidetracked by video games (another passion of mine.) From 2010 until 2011 I was sponsored to play in video game tournaments. I traveled all over America, Canada, and the Caribbean. It was during this time that a few publishers started to become interested in my novel Deamhan and I took my boyfriend’s advice. Stop playing and start taking your writing dream seriously. So here I am. Deamhan is scheduled to be released late 2013 by Rainstorm Press and I’m currently in talks with the company to have the second book in the series titled Sensual Appetite published as well. I’m currently working on a novella series titled Sphere as well as the third Deamhan book, Maris. The Brotherhood Files. So there you have it. Just a little about me. If you’d like to follow me, I’ve included several ways you can do that.   1. Follow my blog by submitting your email to the link on your left! 2. Follow me on twitter by also clicking on my twitter profile on your left! 3. Follow me on Google+ by also clicking on the Google+ image on your left! 4. If you’d rather do the whole Networked Blogs thing, you can click on the Networked Blogs image on your right! If you’re interested in my novel Deamhan you can visit the website as well.  Every week I’m releasing two to three character profiles along. You can also read the short synopsis and follow that blog as well. Or you can just click on the sites below! Facebook Page Twitter Google+ Goodreads Thanks for stopping by!

The Week my Writing Schedule Went to Sh*t

I had my writing schedule planned for this week. I knew what I’d work on and revise. By Friday (today) I expected to be about 15,000 words in on the third novel in the Deamhan series (untitled at the moment,) and about halfway through the second episode in the Sphere series . . . I’m so far away from my goal. At first I felt depressed then I decided that no writing goal is perfect.  I went to the gym, worked out with my personal (and cute) trainer, and released some tension. This is how I felt all this week, writing  the third book in the Deamhan series (which is technically the fourth book if you count Maris. The Brotherhood Files)   This is how I felt revising the second episode in the Sphere series But this is how I feel today after returning from the gym. I’ve been on a nonstop roll. I forced myself to take a thirty minute break, playing some COD: Black Ops 2 Zombies on my Xbox, to give my mind some time to relax. So I guess this week hasn’t been that bad after all. Along with this, I have another reason to celebrate! The website for my upcoming novel from Rainstorm Press titled “Deamhan” went live a few days ago! If you haven’t already, you can go to the website by clicking the “deamhan” tab above or you can click here. Every week I’ll reveal two character profiles on the site, leading up to the official release of the novel! So please, stop by and check it out! NOTE: By the way, these writertopia images are fantastic! You can find them here along with other writing tools!
