It’s that time of year again! A few things I love about Fall besides pumpkin everything, changes in leaf colors, and cool weather is the Fall T.V. Schedule. I watch a lot of T.V. Actually, I watch more than I should. With the arrival of a few new shows this upcoming season, I find my viewing schedule booked once again. Since I do watch tons of television, I thought I’d post three different blog posts about the new shows I’ll be paying close attention to, returning shows that I will continue to watch and show that I won’t admit to watching, and a farewell to cancelled shows that I liked. So let’s start, shall we? New shows that I’ll be paying close attention to Gotham Premieres: Monday, Sep. 22nd When I first saw the preview for this show in August, I wanted to kick my television across the screen. “Why FOX? Why?” Haven’t you learned from CW’s mistakes when it came to comic adapted television shows? Their track record in that department is questionable, depending on who you talk to and how big of a fan they are. Why would you even consider going that route? I missed the season premiere because, quite frankly, I wasn’t interested. How can a show that takes place in a city relative to Batman NOT have Batman as the main character? Would I be able to sit through a whole season with a young and cocky Gordon as the protagonist? I just didn’t see it. Luckily, a few friends pushed me to give the show a go. “If you can sit through Vampire Diaries, at least give your brain a treat and watch Gotham,” one friend said to me. So one night, after I had my fill of video games, I went to the Hulu app and watched the show. I was extremely impressed. Not only did the show take my doubts about it, crumple it up into a tiny ball of nothingness, and throw it out the window, the first episode showed that this show can exists where Batman is not the main character. We do get to see young versions of characters we recognize in the Batman universe (Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin, Bruce.) So far, so good. Forever Premieres: Sept. 22nd I didn’t hear much about this show besides a few commercials here and there. I recognized the main character as the actor who played Mr. Fantastic in the Fantastic Four movies (anything comic book related automatically peaks my interest.) The night I finally decided to watch Gotham on my Hulu account, I also decided to watch Forever which already had two episodes ready to view. The show is about Dr. Henry Morgan, a medical examiner in New York City who has a big secret. He’s immortal. He spends his existence close to death, trying to figure a way and not how to beat it but to achieve it. Every time he dies, he awakes in a body of water like a lake or in this case, the New York harbor. I like the premise and the first two episodes were pretty interesting. Apparently there is also another person out there just like Dr. Morgan and knows about Dr. Morgan’s affliction. He’s over 2,000 years old. I’ll keep watching as long as this character doesn’t start to sparkle. The Flash Premieres: Oct. 7th *Sigh* Here we go with those comic adapted shows again. I like Arrow. I’m starting to like Gotham. I might like Constantine. But the Flash? I mean, I like him as a character but I never thought that he was a good and or great enough character who could carry a comic book or a television show like Batman or Superman or The Hulk. So again, I found myself confused and begging the CW gods to retract their mistake and to let the show dissipate into thin air. But the comic side of me can’t ignore the pull to watch the first episode. So like an addict I am going to watch it. A few months ago the first episode was leaked online. Fans gobbled it up and it spread like wildfire. A friend (who shall remain nameless) sent me a copy of the show to watch. I still have it but I refuse to watch it. In fact, I deleted it. I should have NEVER downloaded it. Shame on me. Not to go out on a tangent, but if fans really want to support the show, downloading illegal copies of the first episode isn’t the way to go. As an author, I wouldn’t want my book to be online for everyone to download unless I wanted it to be. I understand the need to gain followers, fans, and supportive others. With that being said, I told my friend that if he really liked the show, he should watch the first episode again when it premiers on television. Constantine Premieres: Oct 24th By now you should have an idea about how I feel regarding comic adapted shows. Constantine is no different. I’ve heard and seen little about this show. I’ve never read the comic books. I just remember watching the movie starring Keanu Reeves (which was enjoyable for what it was.) Again, that comic side of me is just itching to watch. I feel like a little girl jumping up and down at the sight of a present that I can’t open until my birthday. Or waiting Christmas morning for everyone in my family to get up before I could open up my gift, wrapped in green decorated wrapping paper, forming the outline of a bicycle. I know what the gift is but the idea of discovering it is what I’m really after. Z Nation Premieres: Friday, Sep. 12th Zombie fans, forgive me for saying that I am extremely pessimistic about this show. I’m not a huge fan of zombies. I tried to get into the Walking Dead but I couldn’t do it. Apparently it’s a decent show because it has a huge following but it’s not for me. However, I’m willing to give a zombie show another shot. I have yet to watch an episode and so far I’m 3, going on 4, episodes behind. So these are the new shows I’m looking forward to this Fall. What shows are you looking forward to?

I’m thrilled to reveal the cover for the first novella in the Deamhan universe. Kei. Family Matters, takes place shortly after the first novel, Deamhan. After being dethroned as head Deamhan in Minneapolis, Kei travels south, looking for the only person he feels would help him in his plan to retake the city. He’s vulgar, unconcerned, and downright uncontrollable because in the end, he believes that he’s the only one can secure his future. **Kei. Family Matters is free for subscribers starting December 2nd, 2013. The coupon code will be in December’s newsletter** Kellie Dennis from Book Cover By Design did an amazing job on the cover! I really admire her work and if you haven’t, I suggest checking out her site. Kei. Family Matters Deamhan Tales #1 Cover: Kellie Dennis. Book Cover By Design Pages: 41 Release Date: December 2nd, 2013 Price: 0.99 Format: E-book (Exclusive Print) For decades, I singularly helped strengthen the Deamhan in Minneapolis, and made sure that all the vampires feared us. Ramanga, Lamia, Metusba, Lugat – I looked out for everyone. No one before me had the guts to stand up to the humans and vampires like I did. If it weren’t for me, Deamhan would’ve left that city in fear a long time ago. Everything was fine until my sibling, Selene, arrived. She released my sire, Lucius, from Limbo, and all hell broke loose. They massacred my supporters and dethroned me. Now, with his minions rallying behind Lucius like he’s their messiah, Selene and he chase me to the ends of the earth. They erroneously believe that by capturing me, they will exact justice from me for my crimes. Little do they know that nothing can keep me away from Minneapolis, the city I built from the ground up. I’m going nowhere. The city belongs to me, Kei; and only I can redeem it. EXCERPT Moving in breakneck speed, I grabbed the knife and phone from her grasp and threw them to the ground. I did all of this before she had the chance to blink. Her mouth widened enough to catch flies, showing a side of fear in humans that I loved seeing. “See what I did there Bobbi?” Shell-shocked, she didn’t reply. “I know you saw it. Tell me you saw it.” I wanted to hear her say it but she didn’t speak a word. “I can make you into what I am. I can make you immortal. You’ll be fast, strong, and unafraid of anyone and anything.” “What?” She spoke in a high squealed voice. “I can make you immortal. It’s easy really.” I paused. “Well, actually it isn’t. Some humans don’t survive the transformation.” I scanned her. “But you look suitable I guess. So, you want me to?” She screamed and lashed out at me. She drove her fingernails into my skin, creating long scratch marks that healed immediately. Angered, I grabbed her by her arm and easily tossed her across the kitchen. Her back smacked against the fridge and she fell to the floor. “I guess I can’t make you.” I walked over to her. “Stupid move, Bobbi. If someone offered immortality to me, I’d take it in a heartbeat.” I knelt beside her and she lazily raised her head. “Well, actually I did and I don’t have a heartbeat.” I slipped my hand underneath her chin and raised her head. “I’ll give you a second chance, that’s it. Bobbi, do you want to be immortal?” I’ve sired plenty humans in my time; too many to count, and not once did I regret doing so. Each human served me in different ways. Nashoba was my getaway card. Bobbi would be my…well, maybe she could be my extra pair of eyes while I remained town, if she awoke from her transformation in time. The more humans a Deamhan sired, the more support they had, even if Deamhan weren’t known to be reliable. Broken bonds didn’t matter. I waited for her to throw herself at the offer but instead she opened her mouth and she screamed again. And again. And again. She wailed, trying to move her body away from mine. Tears poured down her face. She moved my hand away from her face and she raised herself up by using the fridge as support. “Please, don’t hurt me.” I stood up slowly. “I didn’t say anything about hurting you. I asked you if you want to be immortal. Are you not listening?” She tried to run by me, but I blocked her way. She moved to the left and I followed her. “I have money. It’s in my room. Just please don’t kill me.” “I don’t want your money.” I exhaled loudly and grinded my teeth. “Please, just go. I won’t tell anyone, I swear.” This turned into a cat and mouse chase and frankly, I was bored with repeating myself. I reached out, grabbed her by her scraggly hair, and pulled back, yanking with such force that I heard her neck snap. I let go and her body fell to the floor like a limp noodle. Standing over her, I took the time to admire my handy work until I realized that I had just killed a potential meal. “Damn it Bobbi,” I snarled as I kicked her corpse. “Look what you made me do.”

I haven’t posted a blog in a few weeks. I’ve been extremely busy, dealing with my novel, fixing issues with my novel, and preparing for the blog tour. #1. The blog tour started this week. If interested I’ve posted the dates on my website. Just click on the “Deamhan Blog Tour” tab above or you can click here. Don’t miss your chance to enter the raffle and win some amazing prizes, including a $50 Amazon Gift card. Free swag is always a plus! #2. A few readers have been so kind to let me know about the issues in my novel, Deamhan. I honestly don’t know what happened and neither does the publisher. At the moment, we’re working hard on getting those issues fixed. I have to admit. I was depressed for a few days after learning that my baby had simple errors, and I mean simple. Errors I’ve never made in my life (waist instead of waste.) I wanted to bury myself in a hole in the middle of nowhere. I know for a fact (and I looked back at the manuscript before it was edited) that the spelling errors weren’t there. But other authors reassured me that this happens all the time and unfortunately I was just one of many that experienced this. Still, it’s unfortunate and just thinking about it upsets me. Thank you all for understanding this dilemma. #3. I’d like to welcome new followers and fans! I’ve received some helpful feedback on how I can improve my presence over the web. As a new author, it’s hard to acquire fans. Humans stick to what and who they know. Thank you all for making me feel welcomed! Both of my Facebook pages have received tons of likes in the past few days and weeks as well, which is exciting! If you haven’t liked them, check the column on the right and please like! You can also sub to my newsletter. I’m going to start giving away some neat prizes for subscribers only! #4. Somehow I’ve managed to finish the free short story of the Deamhan Tales promised to my newsletter subscribers. Kei. Family Matters is 14,000 words. I haven’t decided on the cover and I haven’t handed the manuscript to the editor, but I’m really excited about these tale. I think you will be too. This will be free. Yes, you heard me! Free! Subscribers will get first dibs. For those not subscribed, don’t worry. I’ve planned to release to the public a month after its initial release.

Although I don’t write short stories that often anymore, I consider The Sisyphus Syndrome one of the best pieces I’ve written period. I’m so happy that I was able to find a home for it. Check out the cool cover of the anthology! On the Rainy Highway Tommy B. I’m thrilled to be part of Mel Chesley’s Blog Hop! This being my first time taking part in a Blog Hop, I honestly don’t know what to expect. Well, let me get started about who I am. My pseudonym is Isaiyan Morrison. I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I currently reside in Texas with my two cats, three pit bull dogs (who I love so much,) and two guinea pigs. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember and I constantly dreamed about becoming successful at it one day. At 20 I joined the military and moved to San Diego. I placed writing on the back burner and served four years. Later I moved to Hollywood and lived there for about three years before I moved back to Minnesota. At that time I decided to ignore my fears and pursue my dream of becoming an author. I went to school and continued to write. Unfortunately, I was sidetracked by video games (another passion of mine.) From 2010 until 2011 I was sponsored to play in video game tournaments. I traveled all over America, Canada, and the Caribbean. It was during this time that a few publishers started to become interested in my novel Deamhan and I took my boyfriend’s advice. Stop playing and start taking your writing dream seriously. So here I am. Deamhan is scheduled to be released late 2013 by Rainstorm Press and I’m currently in talks with the company to have the second book in the series titled Sensual Appetite published as well. I’m currently working on a novella series titled Sphere as well as the third Deamhan book, Maris. The Brotherhood Files. So there you have it. Just a little about me. If you’d like to follow me, I’ve included several ways you can do that. 1. Follow my blog by submitting your email to the link on your left! 2. Follow me on twitter by also clicking on my twitter profile on your left! 3. Follow me on Google+ by also clicking on the Google+ image on your left! 4. Every week I’m releasing two to three character profiles along. You can also read the short synopsis and follow that blog as well. Or you can just click on the sites below! I had my writing schedule planned for this week. I knew what I’d work on and revise. By Friday (today) I expected to be about 15,000 words in on the third novel in the Deamhan series (untitled at the moment,) and about halfway through the second episode in the Sphere series . . . I’m so far away from my goal. At first I felt depressed then I decided that no writing goal is perfect. I went to the gym, worked out with my personal (and cute) trainer, and released some tension. This is how I felt all this week, writing the third book in the Deamhan series (which is technically the fourth book if you count Maris. The Brotherhood Files) This is how I felt revising the second episode in the Sphere series But this is how I feel today after returning from the gym. I’ve been on a nonstop roll. I forced myself to take a thirty minute break, playing some COD: Black Ops 2 Zombies on my Xbox, to give my mind some time to relax. So I guess this week hasn’t been that bad after all. Along with this, I have another reason to celebrate! The website for my upcoming novel from Rainstorm Press titled “Deamhan” went live a few days ago! If you haven’t already, you can go to the website by clicking the “deamhan” tab above or you can click here. Every week I’ll reveal two character profiles on the site, leading up to the official release of the novel! So please, stop by and check it out! NOTE: By the way, these writertopia images are fantastic! You can find them here along with other writing tools!
