September Updates – Blog Tour, Novel Issues, Deamhan Tales

Deamhan Banner 851 x 315 - AUTHOR

I haven’t posted a blog in a few weeks. I’ve been extremely busy, dealing with my novel, fixing issues with my novel, and preparing for the blog tour. #1. The blog tour started this week. If interested I’ve posted the dates on my website. Just click on the “Deamhan Blog Tour” tab above or you can click here. Don’t miss your chance to enter the raffle and win some amazing prizes, including a $50 Amazon Gift card. Free swag is always a plus! #2. A few readers have been so kind to let me know about the issues in my novel, Deamhan. I honestly don’t know what happened and neither does the publisher. At the moment, we’re working hard on getting those issues fixed. I have to admit. I was depressed for a few days after learning that my baby had simple errors, and I mean simple. Errors I’ve never made in my life (waist instead of waste.) I wanted to bury myself in a hole in the middle of nowhere. I know for a fact (and I looked back at the manuscript before it was edited) that the spelling errors weren’t there. But other authors reassured me that this happens all the time and unfortunately I was just one of many that experienced this. Still, it’s unfortunate and just thinking about it upsets me. Thank you all for understanding this dilemma. #3. I’d like to welcome new followers and fans! I’ve received some helpful feedback on how I can improve my presence over the web. As a new author, it’s hard to acquire fans. Humans stick to what and who they know. Thank you all for making me feel welcomed! Both of my Facebook pages have received tons of likes in the past few days and weeks as well, which is exciting! If you haven’t liked them, check the column on the right and please like! You can also sub to my newsletter. I’m going to start giving away some neat prizes for subscribers only! #4. Somehow I’ve managed to finish the free short story of the Deamhan Tales promised to my newsletter subscribers. Kei. Family Matters is 14,000 words. I haven’t decided on the cover and I haven’t handed the manuscript to the editor, but I’m really excited about these tale. I think you will be too. This will be free. Yes, you heard me! Free! Subscribers will get first dibs. For those not subscribed, don’t worry. I’ve planned to release to the public a month after its initial release.

Friday Fun Time! – Vampire Prosecutor

Vampire Prosecutor

This week went by so fast! I’m still eternally grateful and surprised at how many people showed up for my Deamhan Release Facebook Event on Wednesday. Again, thank you! I had tons of fun and I can’t wait to do another release event again! Hopefully soon. Congrats to the winners! As soon as I receive the list of winners, I’ll start sending out the prizes! Next week is going to be lonely for me out there in TV tube land. No TrueBlood on Sunday, no Teen Wolf on Monday, season finale (summer finale maybe) of Twisted on Tuesday. Suddenly my TV schedule is empty. Thank God for Xbox. A few blog posts ago I wrote about my Fall TV schedule and how crowded it’s going to be, especially in October. Sons of Anarchy starts on Sept 10th, Boardwalk Empire, Sept 8th, and I want to check out the new show, Sleepy Hollow, that starts Sept 16th. If you don’t know already, I’m also a gamer. I can spend literally an hour to half a day playing my favorite game if it catches my interest. Recently I’ve been slowing down and spending more time writing. The one thing I love about Xbox are the apps: HBOGo, Netflix, Youtube, Machinima, Amazon Prime ect. I watch a lot of Netflix shows and there’s currently one that caught my eye. It’s a Korean show called Vampire Prosecutor. http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Vampire_Prosecutor It took a little time getting used to at first. The title pretty much describes the show.  A prosecutor, who is a vampire, solves crimes by tasting the blood of his victims. He can tell how they died and when by the smell and taste of their blood. Sounds cool, right? So I gave the show I shot and by the second episode, I was in love!! This show is amazing, the plot well thought out, and the acting and directing is phenomenal. The only problem I currently have is that there’s only ONE season on Netflix and I don’t know what I’m going to do after I finish the first season. I’ve been searching the net looking around to buy the second season. The only site I found was Drama Fever but I’m a little skeptical. If you’re curious about the show, I’ll leave you with this. *The show has subtitles, but this trailer doesn’t*

She gains the trust of the only other human familiar with the Deamhan lifestyle. With his help she finds not only can the Deamhan not be trusted but it s her own father, president of a ruthless organization of researchers, who has diabolically maintained that distrust. http://deamhan.com    It’s a vampire themed event filled with great prizes and games! Too Many Shows, So Little Time

sons of anarchy

I had an entry like this similar to the one I posed on my now closed blogspot page. Just when I gave up on watching television, the arrival of a few new shows this season peaked my interest. It’s not like my schedule is already booked. Don’t believe me? Well, this is what my schedule looks like. Supernatural Season Premiere: October 8th, 2013, Tuesdays I honestly don’t remember what season the show is in.  The season finale showed angels falling from heaven and Sam’s failed attempt on Crowley. Kept me on the edge of my seat! This is one show that I rarely miss. Vampire Diaries Season Premiere: October 3rd, 2013, Thursdays I have to admit. I was getting tired of evil b*tch Elena so I was somewhat happy to see her return. For me, the episodes have its ups and downs. Maybe because I still don’t understand the fascination with vampires and high school. Oh well, I’ll still tune in and watch this season. However, with the Originals airing and my love for Klaus . . . Sons of Anarchy Season Premiere: September 10th, Tuesdays http://www.fxnetworks.com/soa No supernatural, high school drama here. Just a good old fashioned biker gang creating mischievous. Okay, well that’s a weak synopsis of the show. I started watching SOA when it was in it’s third season. I spent an entire week catching up on Netflix. This show is one of the best shows on TV hands down (along with Game of Thrones.) Last season finale, Tara was being arrested and hauled away by the cops and Clay was going to jail. I think this season is going to be too crazy to not miss. Plus I love Juice! Boardwalk Empire Season Premiere:  September 8th 2013, Sundays There’s something about HBO shows that keep me entertained for a very long time. I watch Game of Thrones early in the year, TruBlood in the summer, and I finish it off with Boardwalk Empire in the fall. But this year I might stop doing something different. I might have to stop watching the show. The first few seasons were awesome and fantastic. I really like Steve Buscemi’s character, Lucky, and how he struggles to keep his spot as the most important and respected person in his area. But the show has started to slow down for me and this started with the death of Jimmy. Afterwards I honestly didn’t care about much about the other characters and what they were up to and how important they were to the story. Depending on how this season goes, if it doesn’t pick up anytime soon I might have to drop the show. Being Human   Season Premiere: 2014 http://www.syfy.com/beinghuman Okay, so I don’t REALLY have to worry about this show until then, but I just wanted to say that UK Version > US Version hands down. Still the US version is a pretty good show. Arrow Season Premiere: October 9th 2013, Wednesdays http://www.cwtv.com/shows/arrow I love comic books. I hate when movies/shows don’t stick to comic books, but I understand how troublesome that could be for production. I watched Smallville until I couldn’t take it anymore, praying to the CW gods to end the show. They finally listened in, what- season 11 or something? I don’t remember. The only thing I do remember is that the show went on for too damn long and Lana annoyed the heck out of me. I hope Arrow doesn’t go down that path. So far it’s pretty entertaining. I wonder if we’re going to see Arrow’s sidekick, Speedy? The only thing that gets to me is Oliver Queen’s sister. Oh, and also how most of the characters talk in whispers. Other than that, it’s a great show with a plot that well . . . sometimes makes you scratch your head and think “What in the heck is going on?” Vikings Season Premiere: ??? http://www.history.com/shows/vikings All I know is that there will be a season 2, according to the History Channel. I saw the season two sneak peek vid and it looked like everything I expected season two to be. It shows Ragnar standing with a group of men across from his brother, Rollo, who also has his own group of men. The two groups charge at each other and a bloody fight ensues. I’m also interested in the Vikings’ conquest to England and how that’ll play out. I HIGHLY recommend this show. Grimm Season Premiere: October 25th, Fridays http://www.nbc.com/grimm/ Nick is a descended from a long line of Grimms, those who have the ability to see creatures disguised as humans. I like the show’s premise and the characters are very interesting, including the Wesen (creatures.) Last season showed Nick being captured and contained in a box to be shipped to somewhere unknown. Whew. I think that about covers it. So there you have it. The MAIN shows I currently watch in the Fall. Yes, only MAIN shows. Now, on top of that, these are the new shows I’m looking forward to this fall season. Originals    Season Premiere: October 3rd 2013 The season premieres right after The Vampire Diaries’ season premiere. Go figure. Dracula Bringing it back to basics with no high school teen drama involved. I can’t wait. Sleepy Hollow  Season Premiere: September 16th Set in a modern city with a modern day Ichabod Crane.   No wonder I can’t get anything done.

Release Date for The Bond (Sphere, Episode Two)

Book cover 2 - Isaiyan

First I’d like to give a special thanks to those who’ve purchased the first episode, The Carriers, on Smashwords and Amazon. I can’t thank you enough! Honestly, I was surprised at how many downloads of the book I had, especially on Amazon since you can purchase the book for free on Smashwords by using code KX55E. If you liked the episode (or hated it) remember to post your review on Amazon. I appreciate the emails I’ve received but please, share your thoughts with others on the website. That could make a huge difference for others who may be undecided about purchasing the episode. Also, it also helps me to know what I’m doing right or wrong and how I can improve as an author! With that being said, I planned on releasing each episode of my serial every two weeks. However, I’ve been behind this past week (going to Orlando and watching the EVO Video Game Tournament.) So I’ve decided to set the release date for the next episode titled “The Bond” for August 7th, 2013. I’ve also decided to skip Smashwords this time and stick directly to Amazon.   Synopsis As a new Carrier in training, Tayla has a lot to learn. Still unable to accept that her mother who walked out on her and her father years ago was a Carrier herself, her new friends, Darrien, Sina, and Iris, began to reveal how important her mother was in the Carrier world. A Serial Novel You Say???

Print

As a writer, you have ideas coming to you at all times. I can only speak for myself when I say that if I ignore these ideas, they continue to fester inside my brain until I write them down. Now, not all ideas are great ideas. I’ve started several books, only to reach the middle and think “wow, this isn’t going anywhere” or “wow, this sucks” or “wow, this is boring.” At that point I either stuff the manuscript in my slush box (yes, I have one.) If I remember, I might pull it out and try again or take it apart and add it to other novels I’m working on. However, there’s always one idea that I try hard to ignore and place on the back burner and it ends up coming to bite me in the ass later. I consider myself a dark fiction author. That is, I like writing about the darker things in life; vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, mass murderers – I think you get the idea. But this new idea isn’t dark fiction. Honestly, I don’t know what to call it. What I do know is that I love writing it and I won’t stop until it’s done. This little experimentation is called “Sphere.” It’s a serial novel, meaning that it’ll be  50-70 pages each or about 15,000-20,000 words.  The first “season” has six episodes and it will be self published, e-book format only. Besides this being my first time writing “episodes” this is also my first time writing something other than a dark fiction novel. I’ve only seen a few authors with published serial novels, episodes ect.  I’m not expecting this to fly off the digital shelves, as they say. If it does, well then I’ll be thrilled. If not, I’m fine with that. So with that being said, here’s a rough draft of the cover art created by Javier Alvarez of Javier Designs and edited by Charlotte Emma Gledson (who is amazing!) I personally love it so maybe it isn’t a rough draft after all. I’m a sucker for drawn artwork! Short Synopsis (subject to change) Just finishing graduating high school, Tayla Wyatt looks forward to heading off to the same college her best friend Sara was accepted to. This is her only way to get away from her family’s troubles and the fact that her mother walked out on her and her father over a decade ago.
